The Snow Moon~February

Full Moon in Virgo Feb 2024

February’s Full Moon is known as the Snow Moon and will peak at 7:30 am EST on Saturday, February 24th. This month’s Full Moon will be a micromoon, meaning it is at its farthest distance from the Northern Hemisphere. Even though that moon is a mere 252,225 miles away, we will still feel the Full Moon energies, in the sign of Virgo!! This last moon of winter(for the Northern Hemisphere) is about letting go of all that distracts you from self-care. February is the month of L.O.V.E. Love begins with learning to love yourself. Virgo is all about strength, independence, and health(wellness).

L.O.V.E. Yourself

Individuals who don’t receive nurturing during childhood have a difficult time learning to nurture themselves as adults. As adults, it is our responsibility to nurture ourselves. It isn’t someone else’s job. Just ours. We can nurture ourselves beginning with loving ourselves just as we are. When we love ourselves, we take back our power. We learn that yes, nurturing ourselves brings with it many benefits for our Mind-Body-Spirit.

Evaluating Our Relationships

Everything begins with this one concept which is developing a healthy relationship with YOU!!!! If your relationship begins with anyone else but YOU, you will always be trying to live up to this other person’s expectations. You will also live wondering if you are living up to this person’s expectations. It is also not anyone else’s job to save us nor is it our job to save others(fix others). We have one job and that is with ourselves.

This Full Moon will give us an opportunity to look at our relationships in life whether it be personal, love, friendships, or work relationships to evaluate if they are win-win. The benefit of nurturing ourselves is that we will no longer tolerate toxic one-sided relationships. Of all the relationships you have in the world the most important one is the one you have with yourself. See how we circled back to self-care and nurturing oneself. When we love and accept ourselves unconditionally we won’t look for this love outside of ourselves. Healthy balanced love begins with loving yourself and giving yourself everything you need and then any love you receive from another person is BONUS love!!

How can we develop healthy self-love?

Meditation is an excellent way we can listen to our Soul and rejuvenate our Spiritual energy.

How can I nurture myself? The answer lies within YOU! What do you need to fill your spiritual, mental, and physical bucket? Journal some ways where you can bring these areas into balance.

Affirmations help us develop a positive mindset which is necessary for rebuilding our identity free of self-limiting beliefs.

Affirmations can be used with small children! Imagine if you said your affirmations in front of your children. They would follow your example! This example would help them develop their healthy self-concept and it would snowball into them not being concerned with anyone else’s opinion of them. Write some affirmations about yourself and hang them on the bathroom mirrors, in the kitchen, at work, in the car! Whenever you see them, say them out loud or in your head. Changing decades-old beliefs that we learned and created about ourselves based on misinformation is a challenge but it is a very doable challenge. The world we live in is a spiritual world that is created within us. This inner worldview dictates the view of the physical world that we see and experience outside of ourselves each day. Today is a GREAT day to LOVE!
